Emma's mom was able to make a special visit to speak to our class about the human body. She used her medical expertise to tell us about some of the cool instruments that are used when we visit the doctor's office. Our class enjoyed her visit!
This week is all about perimeter and area is so easy. Last week was all about staying healthy because a lot of people were out sick but thanks to Alliecen and Alexis they brought us germx. yay I was using it like crazy. This week was all about telling time!It was fun but a little hard for a few of us! Some ways are to use a number line a clock. After lunch, on February 7, we walked out as a class to observe our Tulip Test Garden. We were pleased to see that Mary Beth's tulip emerged an inch above ground. We went back out February 11 and discovered that several more tulips are emerging! We are so excited and can't wait to see their beautiful blooms. Each member of the class is working on building a website to show more about what is happening with our Tulip Test Garden. We will choose the top two sites, coming soon.

Not sure if you can see the green tennis shoe in the picture and the purple trophy. Well that is not just any shoe, it is the PE award for best behavior in PE class! That is also a trophy from Music for the best behaved class! We are celebrating!
Week 2 of school has been pretty busy! We have been reading The Tiny Seed, by Eric Carle. We have been reading and finding the main idea and details within a story. We have read fiction and non-fiction stories and discussed the differences. We also started our first Webquest together! We are learning so much about plant life cycles, germination, and have even planted our own radishes and lima beans. We have learned new math multiplication facts from Rhymes N' Times! Check out our slide show to see!
